Terms Used In Maine Revised Statutes Title 10 Sec. 9068
- Dealer: means any person engaged in the sale, leasing, or distribution of new manufactured homes primarily to persons who in good faith purchase or lease a manufactured home for purposes other than resale. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 10 Sec. 9061
- Department: means the Department of Professional and Financial Regulation or its employees. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 10 Sec. 9061
- Distributor: means any person engaged in the sale and distribution of manufactured homes for resale. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 10 Sec. 9061
- Manufacturer: means any person engaged in manufacturing or assembling manufactured homes, regardless of the destination of the homes, including any person engaged in importing homes for resale. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 10 Sec. 9061
- Secretary: means the Secretary of the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 10 Sec. 9061
- United States: includes territories and the District of Columbia. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 1 Sec. 72
The department shall establish a monitoring inspection fee in an amount established by the Secretary of the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development. This monitoring inspection fee is an amount paid by the manufacturer for each home produced in this State. [PL 1995, c. 353, §6 (AMD).]
The monitoring inspection fee shall be paid by the manufacturer to the Secretary of the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development, who shall distribute the fees collected from all home manufacturers among the approved and conditionally approved states, based on the number of new homes whose first location after leaving the manufacturing plant is on the premises of a distributor, dealer or purchaser in that state.
