Terms Used In Maine Revised Statutes Title 12 Sec. 1829
- Department: means the Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 12 Sec. 1801
- Park: means any area of land or an interest in land, with or without improvements, that is acquired by or under the control of the State, managed primarily for public recreation or conservation purposes and classified by the director as a park, including:

The powers and duties of the bureau as set forth in this subchapter may not be so construed as to interfere or conflict in any way with the powers and duties of the United States and its national park areas under national control, Baxter State Park or the Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife and the enforcement of the inland fisheries and game laws with respect to state parks or to the State generally.
