- Defendant: In a civil suit, the person complained against; in a criminal case, the person accused of the crime.
The Judicial Department may implement a procedure for the payment of fines by use of major credit cards and may assess a reasonable fee upon the defendant to cover any administrative expenses incurred in connection with the use of credit cards as a method of paying fines.
