Terms Used In Maine Revised Statutes Title 19-A Sec. 1871
- Parentage: means the legal relationship between a child and a parent as established in this chapter. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 19-A Sec. 1832
- state: means any state, territory or possession of the United States, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico and the District of Columbia. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 19-A Sec. 101
To facilitate compliance with this subchapter, the State Registrar of Vital Statistics shall prescribe forms for the acknowledgment of parentage and the denial of parentage. A valid acknowledgment of parentage or denial of parentage is not affected by a later modification of the prescribed form. [PL 2021, c. 141, §16 (AMD).]
