A forfeiture under this Title may be recovered in a civil action. Unless specifically provided for, it shall be disbursed as follows. [PL 1981, c. 693, §§5, 8 (NEW).]
1. School purposes. It shall be paid into the treasury of the school administrative unit where the offense occurred, for use for school purposes.

Terms Used In Maine Revised Statutes Title 20-A Sec. 6802
- School administrative unit: means the state-approved unit of school administration and includes a municipal school unit, school administrative district, community school district, regional school unit or any other municipal or quasi-municipal corporation responsible for operating or constructing public schools, except that it does not include a career and technical education region. - Year: means a calendar year, unless otherwise expressed. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 1 Sec. 72
2. Prosecution costs. An amount equal to the cost of prosecution shall be paid into the county treasury.

3. Forfeiture. A school administrative unit shall forfeit the money it received to a person bringing civil suit, if the unit has not expended that money within one year of receiving it.
