Terms Used In Maine Revised Statutes Title 22 Sec. 24
- Commissioner: means the Commissioner of Health and Human Services. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 22 Sec. 1-A
- EBT card: means a card issued by the department under an electronic benefits transfer system for the delivery of benefits to recipients. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 22 Sec. 21
- Guardian: A person legally empowered and charged with the duty of taking care of and managing the property of another person who because of age, intellect, or health, is incapable of managing his (her) own affairs.
- in writing: include printing and other modes of making legible words. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 1 Sec. 72
- Program: means SNAP or the Medicaid program or another program. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 22 Sec. 21
- Recipient: means a recipient of benefits under SNAP or the Medicaid program or another program. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 22 Sec. 21
The commissioner shall place a photograph of a recipient of benefits under a program specified in section 22 on the recipient’s electronic benefits transfer card if agreed to in writing by the recipient. When a recipient of benefits is a minor or incapacitated individual, the commissioner may place a photograph of the recipient’s parent or legal guardian on the EBT card if agreed to in writing by that parent or legal guardian.
