Terms Used In Maine Revised Statutes Title 24-A Sec. 4213
- Health maintenance organization: means a public or private organization that is organized under the laws of the Federal Government, this State, another state or the District of Columbia or a component of such an organization, and that:
A. The superintendent may, after notice and hearing pursuant to the Maine Administrative Procedure Act, Title 5, chapter 375, subchapter II, promulgate such reasonable rules and regulations as are necessary to provide for the licensing of agents. An agent means a person directly or indirectly associated with a health maintenance organization who engages in solicitation or enrollment. [PL 1977, c. 694, §433 (AMD).]
