1. Dependent child; definition. As used in this section, “dependent child” means the child of a person covered under an individual or group health maintenance organization contract.

Terms Used In Maine Revised Statutes Title 24-A Sec. 4233-B

  • Contract: A legal written agreement that becomes binding when signed.
  • Dependent: A person dependent for support upon another.
  • Health maintenance organization: means a public or private organization that is organized under the laws of the Federal Government, this State, another state or the District of Columbia or a component of such an organization, and that:

  • Person: means an individual, firm, partnership, corporation, association, syndicate, organization, society, business trust, attorney-in-fact or any legal entity. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 24-A Sec. 4202-A
  • 2. Offer of coverage. An individual or group health maintenance organization contract that offers coverage for a dependent child must offer such coverage, at the option of the parent, until the dependent child attains 26 years of age. If the dependent child has a disability, the contract must offer coverage in accordance with section 4233?C.
