1. Penalties. In addition to any other applicable penalties for violations of this Title or Title 24, the superintendent may order issuers violating any provision of this chapter or any rule adopted pursuant to this chapter to:
A. Comply with the provisions of this chapter; or [PL 1995, c. 570, §9 (NEW).]
B. Cease marketing any Medicare supplement policy or certificate in this State that is directly or indirectly related to a violation. [PL 1995, c. 570, §9 (NEW).]

Terms Used In Maine Revised Statutes Title 24-A Sec. 5014
- Certificate: means any certificate delivered or issued for delivery in this State under a group Medicare supplement policy. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 24-A Sec. 5001
- Medicare: means the "Health Insurance for the Aged Act" Title XVIII of the Social Security Amendments of 1965, as amended. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 24-A Sec. 5001
- Superintendent: means the Superintendent of Insurance. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 24-A Sec. 5001
2. Election of penalty options. The superintendent may exercise any of the penalty options provided by this section, in combination or in sequence, as the superintendent considers appropriate.
