Terms Used In Maine Revised Statutes Title 24-A Sec. 6815-A

  • Settlement: Parties to a lawsuit resolve their difference without having a trial. Settlements often involve the payment of compensation by one party in satisfaction of the other party's claims.
This chapter does not preempt the regulatory requirements set forth in the Maine Uniform Securities Act, as amended, including but not limited to the regulation of securities transactions in settlement contracts or viatical settlement contracts and the licensing of any person or entity engaged in the sale of securities.
