Terms Used In Maine Revised Statutes > Title 26 > Chapter 7 > Subchapter 4-B - Sexual Harassment Policies
- Commission: means the Maine Human Rights Commission described in Title 5, chapter 337, subchapter II. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 26 Sec. 806
- Complaint: A written statement by the plaintiff stating the wrongs allegedly committed by the defendant.
- Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
- Department: means the Department of Labor. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 26 Sec. 806
- Employee: means any person engaged to work on a steady or regular basis, whether full-time or part-time, by an employer located or doing business in the State. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 26 Sec. 806

Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases. Municipality: includes cities, towns and plantations, except that "municipality" does not include plantations in Title 10, chapter 110, subchapter IV; or Title 30?A, Part 2. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 1 Sec. 72 Partnership: A voluntary contract between two or more persons to pool some or all of their assets into a business, with the agreement that there will be a proportional sharing of profits and losses. Recourse: An arrangement in which a bank retains, in form or in substance, any credit risk directly or indirectly associated with an asset it has sold (in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles) that exceeds a pro rata share of the bank's claim on the asset.
