- Employer: means any private or public employer, including the State and political subdivisions of the State. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 26 Sec. 809
- in writing: include printing and other modes of making legible words. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 1 Sec. 72
- Responding to an emergency: means responding to, working at the scene of or returning from a fire or emergency medical services call, a hazardous or toxic materials spill and cleanup or any other situation to which the fire department or emergency medical services provider has been dispatched. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 26 Sec. 809
- Year: means a calendar year, unless otherwise expressed. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 1 Sec. 72
