Terms Used In Maine Revised Statutes Title 30-A Sec. 3445

  • Attachment: A procedure by which a person's property is seized to pay judgments levied by the court.
  • Lien: A claim against real or personal property in satisfaction of a debt.
  • Person: means an individual, corporation, partnership, firm, organization or other legal entity. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 30-A Sec. 2001
  • Year: means a calendar year, unless otherwise expressed. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 1 Sec. 72
When any assessment made under section 3442 is paid by any person against whom the assessment has been made, who is not the owner of the lot or parcel of land, then the person paying the assessment has a lien upon the lot or parcel of land with the buildings on the land for the amount of the assessment paid by that person, and incidental charges. The lien may be enforced in a civil action, and by attachment in the way and manner provided for the enforcement of liens upon buildings and lots under Title 10.
