Terms Used In Maine Revised Statutes Title 30-A Sec. 459
- Evidence: Information presented in testimony or in documents that is used to persuade the fact finder (judge or jury) to decide the case for one side or the other.
- Law enforcement functions: means functions or services related to law enforcement, including patrol, laboratory services, intelligence, investigation, juvenile services, emergency services, detention and communications, whether or not those services are administered or directed through the sheriff's department or municipal police departments. Each county may undertake administrative, management and supporting functions required to implement the law enforcement functions authorized by this chapter, including the recruitment and training of county personnel, maintenance of records and preservation of evidence, purchasing of necessary supplies and planning and budget preparation.
