Terms Used In Maine Revised Statutes Title 30-A Sec. 4993
- Fuel assistance: means assistance paid to eligible households or to fuel vendors on behalf of an eligible household or directly to eligible tenants who pay heating costs as an undesignated portion of rent. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 30-A Sec. 4991
- Person: means an individual, corporation, partnership, firm, organization or other legal entity. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 30-A Sec. 2001
A person who knowingly uses, transfers, acquires or possesses fuel provided through fuel assistance in any manner not authorized by this subchapter or the rules issued under this subchapter commits a Class E crime. [PL 1991, c. 622, Pt. J, §23 (NEW); PL 1991, c. 622, Pt. J, §25 (AFF).]
