Terms Used In Maine Revised Statutes Title 32 Sec. 16505

  • Person: means an individual; corporation; business trust; estate; trust; partnership; limited liability company; association; joint venture; government; governmental subdivision, agency or instrumentality; public corporation; or any other legal or commercial entity.   • State: means a state of the United States, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, the United States Virgin Islands or any territory or insular possession subject to the jurisdiction of the United States. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 32 Sec. 16102
It is unlawful for a person to make or cause to be made in a record that is used in an action or proceeding or filed under this chapter a statement that, at the time and in the light of the circumstances under which it is made, is false or misleading in a material respect or, in connection with the statement, to omit to state a material fact necessary to make the statement made, in the light of the circumstances under which it was made, not false or misleading.
