Terms Used In Maine Revised Statutes Title 32 Sec. 8120-A
- Chief: means the Chief of the State Police or the chief's designee. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 32 Sec. 8103
- Professional investigator: means any person who engages in or solicits business or accepts employment to conduct private investigations. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 32 Sec. 8103
A professional investigator licensed under this chapter may carry a handgun while performing the duties of a professional investigator only after being issued a concealed handgun permit by the chief pursuant to Title 25, chapter 252 and passing the written firearms examination prescribed by the chief.
