1. Powers and duties. The Medical Direction and Practices Board has the following powers and duties.
A. The Medical Direction and Practices Board shall create, adopt and maintain the Maine Emergency Medical Services protocols. [PL 2019, c. 617, Pt. C, §3 (NEW).]
B. The Medical Direction and Practices Board may use videoconferencing and other technologies to conduct its business but is not exempt from Title 1, chapter 13, subchapter 1. Members of the Medical Direction and Practices Board and its staff may participate in a meeting of the Medical Direction and Practices Board or its staff via videoconferencing, conference telephone or similar communications equipment by means of which all persons participating in the meeting can hear each other, and participation in a meeting pursuant to this paragraph constitutes presence in person at such a meeting. C. For the duration of a state of emergency declared by the Governor in accordance with Title 37?B, section 742 due to the outbreak of COVID-19 and for 30 days following the termination of that state of emergency, the Medical Direction and Practices Board may, by majority vote, delegate its duties under this chapter to the statewide emergency medical services medical director and the statewide associate emergency medical services medical director.
