Terms Used In Maine Revised Statutes Title 33 Sec. 305
- Deed: The legal instrument used to transfer title in real property from one person to another.
- Grantor: The person who establishes a trust and places property into it.
- Grantor: means the person who conveys a freehold estate or interest in land. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 1 Sec. 72
- Testimony: Evidence presented orally by witnesses during trials or before grand juries.
When the justice of the peace at the hearing is satisfied by the testimony of witnesses that they saw the deed duly executed by the grantor, he shall certify the same thereon, and state in his certificate the presence or absence of the grantor. [PL 1987, c. 736, §51 (AMD).]
