Terms Used In Maine Revised Statutes > Title 34-B > Chapter 1 > Subchapter 6 - Reporting Animal Cruelty, Abuse or Neglect
- Adult: means a person who has attained the age of 18 years. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 1 Sec. 72
- Animal: means every living, sentient creature not a human being. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 34-B Sec. 1901
- Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
- Department: means the Department of Health and Human Services. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 34-B Sec. 1001
- Partnership: A voluntary contract between two or more persons to pool some or all of their assets into a business, with the agreement that there will be a proportional sharing of profits and losses.
