1. Witnesses. Each witness who is ordered to appear before the commission receives for that witness’s attendance the fees and mileage provided for witnesses in civil cases in the Superior Court. This provision does not apply to the employees, officers, directors, trustees and holders of more than 10% of the common stock of a public utility that is the subject of the commission’s proceeding.

Terms Used In Maine Revised Statutes Title 35-A Sec. 1312
- Commission: means the Public Utilities Commission. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 35-A Sec. 102
- Public utility: includes every gas utility, natural gas pipeline utility, transmission and distribution utility, telephone utility, water utility and ferry, as those terms are defined in this section, and each of those utilities is declared to be a public utility. 2. Fees. The State shall audit and pay the fees in the same manner as other state expenses are audited and paid upon the presentation of proper vouchers approved by the commission.
