Terms Used In Maine Revised Statutes Title 35-A Sec. 8502
- Commission: means the Public Utilities Commission. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 35-A Sec. 102
- Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
- Radio paging service: is a service provided by a communication common carrier engaged in rendering signaling communication. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 35-A Sec. 102
To the extent permitted under federal law, the commission may exercise jurisdiction, control and regulation over radio paging service for the purpose of implementing central office code conservation measures. [PL 1999, c. 60, §2 (NEW).]
