- Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
- Standard district: means a sewer district that is formed and chartered by a private and special law in conformance with this chapter. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 38 Sec. 1032
A standard district is a public municipal corporation within the meaning of Title 36, section 651 and the property of the district is exempt from taxation to the extent provided in that section. [PL 2013, c. 555, §6 (NEW).]
