Terms Used In Maine Revised Statutes Title 38 Sec. 106
- Commission: means the Maine Pilotage Commission. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 38 Sec. 85-B
- Department: means the Department of Transportation. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 38 Sec. 85-B
- Testimony: Evidence presented orally by witnesses during trials or before grand juries.
All money received by the commission must be paid to the Treasurer of State and credited to the account for the commission within the budget of the Department of Transportation. [PL 1997, c. 727, Pt. C, §20 (AMD).]
Money received by the commission must be used for the expenses of administering its statutory responsibilities, including, but not limited to, the costs of conducting investigations, taking testimony and procuring the attendance of witnesses, the costs of all legal proceedings initiated for enforcement and administrative expenses. Any balance of these fees may not lapse but must be carried forward as a continuing account to be expended for the same purposes in the following fiscal years. [PL 1995, c. 397, §127 (NEW).]
