1. Civil violation. Any person who violates any section of this chapter commits a civil violation for which a forfeiture not to exceed $100 may be adjudged.

Terms Used In Maine Revised Statutes Title 7 Sec. 3924
- Dog: means a member of the genus and species known as canis familiaris, except that in chapters 720, 721, 725, 727, 729 and 739 "dog" means a member of the genus and species known as canis familiaris or any canine, regardless of generation, resulting from the interbreeding of a member of canis familiaris with a wolf hybrid. - Person: means an individual, corporation, partnership, association or any other legal entity. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 7 Sec. 3907
2. Unlawful use of collar or tag. A person who removes a tag or who places a tag on a dog for which the license was not issued commits a civil violation for which a forfeiture of not more than $100 may be adjudged.
