Terms Used In Maine Revised Statutes Title 8 Sec. 275-N
- Commercial track: means any harness horse racing track that is a for-profit business and is licensed under this chapter to conduct harness horse racing with pari-mutuel wagering that is not associated with an agricultural fair as defined in Title 7, section 81 and that:
A. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 8 Sec. 275-AOff-track betting facility: means a facility other than a racetrack at which a person is licensed to conduct pari-mutuel wagering on simulcast racing. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 8 Sec. 275-A Year: means a calendar year, unless otherwise expressed. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 1 Sec. 72
The commission may allow interstate simulcasting and license any off-track betting facility regardless of the number of race dates that were conducted in the State for any calendar year. Interstate simulcasting always must be allowed at any commercial track. [PL 2017, c. 231, §18 (AMD).]
