- Guardian: A person legally empowered and charged with the duty of taking care of and managing the property of another person who because of age, intellect, or health, is incapable of managing his (her) own affairs.
- Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
- state: means :
(1) a state, possession, territory, or commonwealth of the United States; or
(2) the District of Columbia. See - Trial: A hearing that takes place when the defendant pleads "not guilty" and witnesses are required to come to court to give evidence.
(a) Before trial, a court exercising criminal jurisdiction in a case involving a child may order the child to undergo blood lead level testing.
(b) A copy of the results of a test performed under subsection (a) of this section shall be provided to:
(1) the child;
(2) the child’s parent or guardian;
(3) the child’s counsel; and
(4) the State‘s Attorney.
