Terms Used In Maryland Code, HEALTH OCCUPATIONS 14-5B-19

  • Person: includes an individual, receiver, trustee, guardian, personal representative, fiduciary, representative of any kind, corporation, partnership, business trust, statutory trust, limited liability company, firm, association, or other nongovernmental entity. See
(a) A person who violates any provision of §§ 14-5B-17 through 14-5B-18.1 of this subtitle is guilty of a misdemeanor and on conviction is subject to a fine not exceeding $1,000 or imprisonment not exceeding 1 year or both.

(b) A person who violates any provision of §§ 14-5B-17 through 14-5B-18.1 of this subtitle is subject to a civil fine of not more than $5,000 to be levied by a disciplinary panel.

(c) The Board shall pay any penalty collected under this section into the Board of Physicians Fund.
