- Appeal: A request made after a trial, asking another court (usually the court of appeals) to decide whether the trial was conducted properly. To make such a request is "to appeal" or "to take an appeal." One who appeals is called the appellant.
- Docket: A log containing brief entries of court proceedings.
The clerk of the court to which an appeal from the Commission is taken shall send promptly to the Commission a certified copy of each docket entry and judgment in the appeal.
