Terms Used In Maryland Code, LAND USE 6-201
- Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
In this subtitle, “appellate board” means:
(1) the board of appeals of a local jurisdiction established under Title 4, Subtitle 3 of this article; or
(2) a special board of appeals created to consider appeals under this subtitle.
