- Deed: The legal instrument used to transfer title in real property from one person to another.
- Lien: A claim against real or personal property in satisfaction of a debt.
When recording a deed or other instrument retaining a vendor’s lien, the clerk shall leave a blank space at the foot of the document for the purpose of entering assignments and releases.
