Terms Used In Michigan Laws 12.135

  • Department: means the department of treasury. See Michigan Laws 12.131
  • state: when applied to the different parts of the United States, shall be construed to extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories belonging to the United States; and the words "United States" shall be construed to include the district and territories. See Michigan Laws 8.3o
     For collection purposes only, a delinquent account assigned to the department for collection under this act shall be considered debts, unpaid accounts, or amounts due the state. In carrying out an agreement entered into under section 2, the department shall secure the collection and payment of amounts pursuant to Act No. 375 of the Public Acts of 1927, being section 14.131 to 14.134 of the Michigan Compiled Laws, and section 25 of Act No. 122 of the Public Acts of 1941, being section 205.25 of the Michigan Compiled Laws.
