Terms Used In Michigan Laws 124.354

  • Authority: means a public transportation authority formed under this act. See Michigan Laws 124.351
  • Contract: A legal written agreement that becomes binding when signed.
  • state: when applied to the different parts of the United States, shall be construed to extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories belonging to the United States; and the words "United States" shall be construed to include the district and territories. See Michigan Laws 8.3o
     The authority shall be a body corporate with power to sue and be sued in any court of this state. It shall possess all the powers necessary to carry out the purposes of its incorporation and all things incident thereto. The authority by contract may employ a management firm, either corporate or otherwise, to actually operate the mass transportation system, under the supervision of the authority. The enumeration of powers of this act shall not be construed as a limitation on such general powers.
