Terms Used In Michigan Laws 125.1634

  • Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
  • Corporation: means a corporation organized pursuant to this act. See Michigan Laws 125.1603
  • Municipality: means a county, city, village, or township. See Michigan Laws 125.1603
  • person: may extend and be applied to bodies politic and corporate, as well as to individuals. See Michigan Laws 8.3l
     A corporation organized and incorporated pursuant to section 5 and Act No. 327 of the Public Acts of 1931, as amended, being section 450.62 to 450.192 of the Michigan Compiled Laws, before the effective date of this section, is subject to this act, as amended, without formal reorganization and the corporation shall be deemed to exist solely under this act, as amended. Actions taken under this act by a person, municipality, or corporation in good faith before the effective date of this section and which would have been valid under this act before section 28 to 36 were added are hereby validated and shall have the same force and effect as if those actions were taken under this act, as amended by the act which added this section.
