- state: when applied to the different parts of the United States, shall be construed to extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories belonging to the United States; and the words "United States" shall be construed to include the district and territories. The naval militia and the state naval board created under Act No. 184 of the Public Acts of 1893, as amended, being section 33.1 to 33.38 of the Compiled Laws of 1948, are transferred by a type I transfer to the department of military affairs.
