- state: when applied to the different parts of the United States, shall be construed to extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories belonging to the United States; and the words "United States" shall be construed to include the district and territories. See Michigan Laws 8.3o
The state tenure commission created under Act No. 4 of the Public Acts of the Extra Session of 1937, as amended, being section 38.81 to 38.191 of the Compiled Laws of 1948, is transferred by a type I transfer to the department of education.
