Terms Used In Michigan Laws 169.253
- Dependent: A person dependent for support upon another.
- Guardian: A person legally empowered and charged with the duty of taking care of and managing the property of another person who because of age, intellect, or health, is incapable of managing his (her) own affairs.
For the purposes of section 49 to 53 a contribution or expenditure by a dependent minor shall be reported in the name of the minor but shall be counted against the contribution limitations of the minor’s parent or guardian, as set forth in section 52.
