- Quorum: The number of legislators that must be present to do business.
The governor shall appoint 1 of the members of the commission as chairperson to serve at the pleasure of the governor. Each year by a majority vote of the members elected to and serving on the commission, the commission shall elect 1 of its members as vice-chairperson and other officers as it considers advisable. In addition to the powers granted the vice-chairperson by commission bylaws, the vice-chairperson shall act as chairperson when the office of chairperson is vacant or the chairperson is absent or unable to serve. Four members of the commission constitute a quorum. The affirmative vote of a majority of those members elected to and serving is necessary for the transaction of business.
