Terms Used In Michigan Laws 257.1708
- Racing event: means a motor vehicle race which is sanctioned by a nationally or internationally recognized racing organization, and includes preparations, practices, and qualifications for the race. See Michigan Laws 257.1702
- state: when applied to the different parts of the United States, shall be construed to extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories belonging to the United States; and the words "United States" shall be construed to include the district and territories. See Michigan Laws 8.3o
A racing event held under this act and any action taken under section 6 and 7 shall be considered as being for public purposes including the promotion of commerce and tourism and for the benefit of the citizens of the city and the state.
