Terms Used In Michigan Laws 290.666
- Director: means the director of the department. See Michigan Laws 290.652
- Marketing program: means a program established by order of the director under this act prescribing rules and regulations governing the marketing for processing, distributing, selling, or handling an agricultural commodity produced in this state or agricultural commodity input during a specified period and that the director determines would be in the public interest. See Michigan Laws 290.652
Prior to the adoption of a marketing program, the director may require the applicants therefor to deposit with him such funds as he deems necessary to defray the expenses of preparing and establishing the marketing program. The funds shall be received, deposited and disbursed by the director in the same manner as other fees received by him under this act. The applicants shall be reimbursed in the amount of the deposit from fees received under such program, if established.
