Terms Used In Michigan Laws 324.17315
- Department: means the department of environmental quality. See Michigan Laws 324.17301
- state: when applied to the different parts of the United States, shall be construed to extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories belonging to the United States; and the words "United States" shall be construed to include the district and territories. (1) Covered electronic devices collected under this part shall be recycled in a manner that complies with federal and state laws, including rules promulgated by the department, and local ordinances.
(2) Any rules promulgated by the department under section 17321 regulating the recycling of covered electronic devices collected under this part shall be consistent with both of the following:
(a) The United States environmental protection agency’s “Plug-in to eCycling Guidelines for Materials Management”, as in effect on the effective date of the amendatory act that added this section.
(b) The institute of scrap recycling industries, inc. publication “Electronics Recycling Operating Practices”, dated April 25, 2006.
