Terms Used In Michigan Laws 324.71504

  • Bonds: means the bonds issued under part 713 or former Act No. See Michigan Laws 324.71501
  • state: when applied to the different parts of the United States, shall be construed to extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories belonging to the United States; and the words "United States" shall be construed to include the district and territories.   • Uniform Commercial Code: A set of statutes enacted by the various states to provide consistency among the states' commercial laws. It includes negotiable instruments, sales, stock transfers, trust and warehouse receipts, and bills of lading. Source: OCC
     Bonds issued under part 713 shall be fully negotiable under the uniform commercial code, Act No. 174 of the Public Acts of 1962, being section 440.1101 to 440.11102 of the Michigan Compiled Laws. The bonds and the interest on the bonds shall be exempt from all taxation by the state or any political subdivision of the state.
