Terms Used In Michigan Laws 33.33
- state: when applied to the different parts of the United States, shall be construed to extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories belonging to the United States; and the words "United States" shall be construed to include the district and territories. The governor may issue honorary commissions at his pleasure to individuals who will promote the best interests of the state, particularly in the areas of water safety, water recreational facilities, boating facilities and improved marine recreational developments and assist in the promotion and expansion of recruiting, training and educational facilities of marine oriented associations.
