- Department: means the department of public health. See Michigan Laws 336.101
- Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.

A person who fails to comply with a rule of the department made under this act is guilty of a misdemeanor and shall be fined not more than $10,000.00 and in the discretion of the court an additional amount of not more than $2,000.00 per day a violation continues. The circuit court of the county in which the violation occurred has exclusive jurisdiction.
