Terms Used In Michigan Laws 339.5911
- Board: means the board of boiler rules described in section 905. See Michigan Laws 339.5901
- Boiler: means a closed vessel in which water is heated, steam is generated, or steam is superheated, or a combination of those actions occurs, under pressure or vacuum by the application of heat from combustible fuels, electricity, or nuclear energy. See Michigan Laws 339.5901
- state: when applied to the different parts of the United States, shall be construed to extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories belonging to the United States; and the words "United States" shall be construed to include the district and territories. See Michigan Laws 8.3o
A boiler that does not conform to the rules and regulations formulated by the board that governs new construction and installation shall not be installed and operated in this state after July 1, 1966, unless the boiler is of special design or construction, is not covered by the rules and regulations, and is not in any way inconsistent with those rules and regulations, in which case the board in its discretion may grant a special installation and operation permit for that boiler.
