(1) “Employer” means this state.
(2) “Former qualified participant” means an individual who was a qualified participant and who terminates the employment upon which his or her participation is based for any reason.

- Dependent: A person dependent for support upon another.
- state: when applied to the different parts of the United States, shall be construed to extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories belonging to the United States; and the words "United States" shall be construed to include the district and territories. (3) “Health benefit dependent” means the qualified or former qualified participant’s spouse, if any, and an unmarried child who is considered a dependent of the qualified or former qualified participant under section 152 of the internal revenue code, if any.
