Terms Used In Michigan Laws 388.1699ee

  • Contract: A legal written agreement that becomes binding when signed.
  • Fiscal year: The fiscal year is the accounting period for the government. For the federal government, this begins on October 1 and ends on September 30. The fiscal year is designated by the calendar year in which it ends; for example, fiscal year 2006 begins on October 1, 2005 and ends on September 30, 2006.
  • Partnership: A voluntary contract between two or more persons to pool some or all of their assets into a business, with the agreement that there will be a proportional sharing of profits and losses.
  • state: when applied to the different parts of the United States, shall be construed to extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories belonging to the United States; and the words "United States" shall be construed to include the district and territories.     (1) From the state school aid fund money appropriated in section 11, there is allocated an amount not to exceed $6,500,000.00 for 2023-2024 only to Wayne RESA for the provision of programming, in partnership with a nonprofit organization that is tax-exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code of 1986, 26 USC 501, and that provides academic and career support programs and services, to help more Hispanic students to graduate from college. A district that receives funds under this section must contract with a nonprofit organization for purposes of this section that received state funds for purposes described in this section in the immediately preceding fiscal year.
    (2) Notwithstanding section 17b, the department shall make payments under this section on a schedule determined by the department.
