Terms Used In Michigan Laws 388.1853

  • state: when applied to the different parts of the United States, shall be construed to extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories belonging to the United States; and the words "United States" shall be construed to include the district and territories.     The auditor general may audit selected enrollments, degrees, and awards at selected independent colleges and universities receiving awards that are administered by the department of treasury. The audits shall be based upon definitions and requirements established by the department of treasury, the state budget director, and the senate and house fiscal agencies. The auditor general shall accept the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form as the standard of residency documentation.
