Terms Used In Michigan Laws 408.1115
- Commissioner: means the department of labor and economic opportunity. See Michigan Laws 408.1101
- Evidence: Information presented in testimony or in documents that is used to persuade the fact finder (judge or jury) to decide the case for one side or the other.
- Subpoena: A command to a witness to appear and give testimony.
For the purpose of an investigation or proceeding under this act, the commissioner or the commissioner’s designee may administer oaths or affirmations, subpoena witnesses, compel their attendance, take evidence, and require the production of records or other documents that the commissioner considers relevant or material to the inquiry.
