- Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
Same; powers of churches not restricted. Nothing in this act contained shall be construed as limiting or restricting the rights, powers, privileges, immunities or the practices of any church heretofore established or incorporated under any law of this state; nor as requiring any such church to alter or change any rule of discipline, custom or usage in respect of its church policy or government; nor as interfering with the lawful acquisition, use or disposition of any property now owned or held by any such church corporation. The provisions of this act relating to ecclesiastical corporations shall be liberally construed in the interests of religion and morality.
